Christmas Lay-by Terms & Conditions

These Lay-by Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of our lay-by service at Castle and Cubby. By entering into a lay-by agreement with us, you agree to abide by these Terms, as well as the applicable Australian Consumer Law requirements. Please read these Terms carefully before proceeding with a lay-by.

How to set up a lay-by

Browse the Castle and Cubby website and add your selected products to your cart. At the checkout stage, select “Lay-by” within the payment method. Double check your email address is correct, this is our primary means of communication.

Castle and Cubby will then process the Lay-by order and your Lay-by account will be set up.

You will receive an email with your Invoice, this email will include information on how to pay your deposit and ongoing lay-by instalments.

If you do not receive this Lay-by email within a few days, please contact Castle and Cubby.

Deposit

Each new lay-by requires a minimum $400 deposit at the time of receiving the Lay-by invoice. Deposits not paid within 7 days of invoice will result in the lay-by cancellation.

Length of term

The Christmas lay-by is a rolling term lay-by with the final date being Friday 22 November 2024. The lay-by must be paid in full by this date.

Payments

Lay-bys are self-managed, allowing you the flexibility to make payments as frequently and in whatever amounts you prefer.

At least 50% of the value of your lay-by order must be paid for production to commence. If 50% payment has not been received by production date of 18 October 2024, your lay-by order may be cancelled, with any amounts paid refunded minus the administration fee.

Payment methods

Bank deposit is the only accepted method of payment. Ensure reference numbers are used on all payments. Failure to identify payments will result in delays in reconciled balances and lay-by collections/delivery.

Reminders

Throughout the duration of the lay-by term, you may receive several email reminders. These reminders are a courtesy only, and you should make sure you’re aware of the due dates for payment.

Cancellation

If you cancel your lay-by or fail to make payment before production has started, we will refund you all amounts paid, minus a cancellation fee of $400.

If you cancel your lay-by or fail to make the final payment, after production has started, we will refund you all amounts paid minus a cancellation fee equal to 50% of your total order.

Lay-by terms cannot be extended beyond the final date. An unpaid lay-by will result in cancellation.

Collection

The lay-by must be paid in full before goods can be taken or delivered.
