Sandpits with Covers & Wheels

Sandpits are the essence of childhood, we haven't met a child yet that doesn't like spending time in the sand. Our own 2 boys (1 pictured) had a range of sandpits over the years starting with this size and ending with a larger version. All the kids would come and play, and whilst a little messy from time to time, the joy and the memories we've made from this play will last us. Still, this image brings us great joy. 

How old is too old for this size sandpit? They'll probably not be able to sit inside it from around age 4ish in our experience, but they will still be on the sides leaning in and playing, so this investment will pay dividends. 

Inclusions:

The base of this uses treated pine timber and the sides are untreated pine for little hands touching mouths. There are gaps in the base to allow for water to escape and we provide a weed mat so the sand doesn't. 

Dual sandpit covers mean the lid isn't too heavy but very sturdy and does a grand job of keeping out the leaf matter. The cover won't keep out water, but you don't really want bone-dry sand anyway, moist sand is much better for molding.
